This month's challenge for [info]picspammy is to picspam something you've never picspammed before. Honestly, I feel like I've picspammed everything I really like. However, as of late, I've been fascinated by British films, particularly from the 1940s, and though I've talked about them loads, I haven't done a picspam of any of them here on my LJ. So here it is:

I managed tog et last minute tickets to the John Williams concert tonight a tthe Hollywood Bowl. I feel like I have to go every year because he's like 85 and I am always afraid there won't be a next year--even though he seems agile and sharp as a tack. So, [info]jiggahava and I are going to go. My cousins will be there, too, but they paid a lot for their tickets and I wasn't willing to part with that much cash, lol.

Anyway, here's a picspam. Another for [info]picspammy. You guys know I couldn't pass this one up! :D Photos from vivandlarry.com, quotes from vivien-leigh.com

I'm doing this picspam for [info]picspammy. When i think of color I think of movies and nature, so I decided to do a picspam of one of the most colorful places I've ever been: Scotland. Well, it's certainly the greenest place I've ever been, especially the highlands which are so so so gorgeous. A few of these photos are mine and a lot are from the geniuses at flickr.

Hey guys,

I did a small friends cut just now. I basically removed people who never update anymore or we never comment on each others' entries/have very little in common. I know you're all really awesome, and it's definitely nothing personal, so I truly wish you all the best :)

Also, please feel free to de-friend me if you feel the same, whether I removed you or not. No hard feelings

I took Coco back to the vet's today. She's doing so much better since last week and her mouth is pretty much all healed up. I have to keep her on the medication until it's gone but other than that, *thumbs up*. I had them do a blood panel on her to make sure nothing else is going on. Vet bills, why are you so expensive?! She HATES the vet though, seriously, she gets so scared they have to dump her out of her carrier and then she hisses at them when they try and examine her and wouldn't make eye contact with the vet, and today she tried to escape the examination room! LOL, I think she was glad to get out of there. Silly kitty.

Oh, and my glasses got here today, so I'll maybe post a picture of my nerdiness later :)

Here's a picspam for your friday (via [info]the_friday_spam. One of the coolest things about Vivien Leigh, imo, was her amazing hat collection!

Thanks, everyone, for the comments on my last entry. I mashed up some canned food and mixed it with a little water to make it extra mushy and Coco was all over it, so at least she was able to eat last night and today. I'm still not sure how much to be feeding her. I think I was underfeeding her for a while there (sorry, Coco!) but she lost a whole pound since last month, so obviously she needs more food, and she needs to be able to eat. Can anyone recommend some good quality, well balanced wet food? I've been reading different things, and she's eating Fancy Feast right now, which isn't the best, but it'll do for today.

Last night she slept next to me and I kept dreaming that she died or something drastic happened, so I kept waking up and petting her to see if she was okay. She got annoyed because she was sleeping lol. She took her medicine okay last night but this morning she hissed at Marika when she tried to put the dropper in her mouth, so I said 'Just grab her by the scruff and try and force her mouth open." We ended up getting more on her face than in her mouth but hopefully she licked it off lol. Luckily she takes her pill crushed and mixed in with food. I hope this medicine does the trick. One of the causes of this disease is kidney failure, and I really hope she doesn't have that (Cloudy died from that but she was 13), but I'm going to have them do a blood test and everything next week when she goes back in for her follow-up, just to make sure. I don't think the rescue center would have adopted her out if she was sick like that, and I haven't seen her drinking excessive water or anything, or gaining weight, but still, better to be safe than sorry. I hope it's just a gum thing and not anything else. Poor little fluffer :(

Anyway, it's Friday and I haven't done a picspam in ages (or have I?).

Today is the 42nd anniversary of Vivien Leigh's death, so as I do every year, here is my 2009 bicentennial mega-tribute to my favorite actress. As you all know, I think Vivien Leigh was amazing. I've been a fan for 7 years and she continues to inspire me in so many ways. I love her movies, but I wish she did more of them because I think she was so talented when she had the right roles--well, she was talented anyway, but with certain roles she really reached another level. Perhaps more than her movies, I find her to have been such an interesting and alluring person. She had everything in her life that makes up an interesting story: fame, fortune, fashion sense, beauty, a powerhouse marriage, and tragedy.

I miss her though I never knew her, and to be honest, I don't get how anyone could fail to appreciate her contributions to moviedom. In the wise words of David Niven, Jr: "The Academy didn't think she was 'good', they thought she was 'the best'. Twice. It's not like she fucked her way to popularity." Truer words were never relayed to me via telephone.

This took me forever to assemble yesterday. Not dial-up friendly...at all.

The new [info]picspammy theme is "Short Form": short films, trailers, music videos, etc. As soon as I saw it I knew immediately what I would post. My favorite of all favorite music videos, of course! Inspired by George Melies' A Trip to the Moon, this 1996 video comes from what has got to be one of the best albums of the 90s: the symphonic Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

And our lives are forever changed / we will never be the same / the more you change the less you feel )

You can count on me posting stills from at least one other SP video before the current theme is up. They were THAT GOOD.

I did a small friends cut. Just people who I know I never really talk to even when we do both update, or you just never update anymore. You're all awesome people and I wish you the best life has to offer, but I don't feel we really have that much in common, or maybe we're just not interested in each other's LJ posts, which is fine as well.

If you want to be added back, let me know, otherwise, best wishes.

Dear anyone who reads this,

How can I transfer VHS tapes to DVD? Do I need special software? I had something for my PC but unfortunately it's not mac compatible.

HELP!

Thanks in advance!

I decided to do a friends cut. I thought of not posting about it, but I didn't want people to get upset. Basically I removed people who I never interact with and vice versa--like, ever, or if a journal hasn't been updated in a long time, or if you got a new LJ but I had your old one still added, then I deleted your old one.

I know I asked some of you to be friends and I know I've been friends with some of your for a really long time, but I just feel like we don't have much if anything in common anymore--at least from what we write about in our LJs. I don't mean to offend anyone, I think you're all super, and I wish you all the best :)
